I keep about one puppy per year, and there’s only so much time and love and money to go around – so I place about one adult dog every year in order to keep moving the breeding program forward. That goal of a dual champion takes a lot more than one litter every few years to have any chance of success.

Rush is a 6 1/2 year old male yellow Labrador Retriever. I was chasing some obedience titles with him, but between kids and dogs and work… I am losing motivation to continue that. He’s environmentally stable, gets along with other dogs, perfect with kids, and is extremely well trained. Perfect health testing (hips, eyes, elbows, heart, genetics, and semi-recent bloodwork). I’ve loaned him out 3 winters to hunt with other people and am told he did great (he’s an AKC Master Hunter, he should do great!). His only quirk is he doesn’t really like to travel and gets stressed in vehicles (sits in his crate and pants). He still likes the destination! He’d be an awesome hiking companion, active pet, or hunting dog. With a tune up, he could keep running MH or HRCH tests. I don’t think he really wants to continue obed/rally/agility competition.
I’d prefer he stayed somewhere near Wyoming so he could come back to me easily if a placement didn’t work out. He is available at stud with me until/if/when placed, but will be neutered before leaving.
